At the Kern User Forum from 25 – 27 April 2017 in Bensheim, for three days, everything was revolved around by state of the art envelope inserting technology, pre- and post-solutions and innovative logistics solutions, all solutions that make daily work efficient. At its location in Bensheim, Germany, Kern presented the entire product portfolio and demonstrated the latest innovations in several informative speeches and presentations. The key focus was on the compact multi-format system Kern 1600 and the Kern Lockers package terminals.

The new Kern 1600 is the compact multi-format inserting system, which is available now. The system impresses with its high degree of flexibility, fast changeover times, and simple operation. It is perfect for the low to medium capacity range and suited for use in the transactional and direct marketing markets, print shops, as well as in letter shops. The Kern 1600 offers very high flexibility for processing of applications. The Kern 1600 impresses with its high degree of flexibility, fast changeover times, exceptional reliability and straightforward operation. The multi format single sheet feeding module delivers documents for processing by folding or non-folding applications. Two standard grouping stations enable the packing group to be collected before and after folding. The above or below group sequence can be converted, giving you the greatest possible processing flexibility. The inserting unit, like the rest of the system, can be quickly and easily converted to a new application. The system is equipped with diverter and shingling conveyor.

Automated package terminals - time-independent delivery that arrives!

In the logistics sector, Kern offers a wide range of automated package terminals that meet a wide range of requirements thanks to their modularity.

Kern Lockers CT (city terminal) can be installed in both outdoor and indoor spaces, in particular with high volumes of people traffic. Kern Lockers HT (home terminal) are suited also to private properties, and Kern Cool Lockers are created for delivery of fresh and frozen food products and pharmaceutical articles. The terminals not only improve internal and external workflows, but also provide a variety of logistical services. Internal processes in medium and large companies can also be simplified with a Kern package terminal, which is the interface to courier services with the effect that waiting times for the employees are a thing of the past. In addition, the system simplifies the distribution of business as well as private mail and enables more efficient workflows in the mailroom.

Kern presented the latest innovations in several presentations. It also demonstrated the entire product portfolio, from the high-performance inserting system Kern 3600 via the high performant multi format inserting system Kern 5000, to the compact inserting system, the Kern 686 with various application examples, into one exhibition. The KAS systems for printers, graphic companies and letter shops were also shown and presented.

With around 300 guests from Germany and abroad, including many decision-makers from companies or their owners, the number of visitors met expectations. Almost all relevant sectors were represented, with the focus on document management, digital printing and envelope inserting and finishing.
