Innovation is the continuous path of further development; at Kern, innovation is tradition. Sophisticated technology for high-performance production is the goal of Kern's philosophy.
For over 70 years, Kern AG has developed and manufactured high-quality inserting systems, card processing solutions, digital printer pre- and post-processing technology, logistics and ADF (automated document factory) software. Characteristic features of high-quality Kern inserting systems are exceptional user friendliness, reliability, and potential application flexibility, paired with modern technologies.
The most recent packaging solution development is the PackOnTime multi-format packaging system. This operates with sustainable recycled cardboard, and makes the need for additional filling materials (such as plastic, bubble wrap, polystyrene, and so on) redundant. Orders of all kinds (single and multiple items) are measured in 3D, and then inserted into the precisely tailored packaging.
Kern has created another mainstay, in its parcel and goods locker systems. Locker systems, controlled by intelligent software and connected to the internet, allow secure delivery of goods when recipients are not at home.
Today, Kern’s presence is global: its tailor-made hardware and software solutions, and locally based customer service, are valued on all five continents. Kern also attaches great importance to personal consultancy, and comprehensive support for each individual customer.
Global continuity – through our customer oriented approach and advanced technology.
Kern experts and Kern partners will be happy to answer questions and provide information on individual products. Reliable service is one of the most significant building blocks of our company. For optimal system availability and productivity, Kern AG offers a comprehensive and reliable service programme.
Do you require advice and support on an inserting process or the Kern mailFactory® software? Or maybe you have other questions regarding the mailing process, or would like to send us your suggestions or requests? We will be happy to assist you and draw up a personalised quote!
Swiss Packaging Award 2019
"...and the winner in the technology category is Kern AG". With its newly developed Multi Format Packaging System PackOnTime®, Kern AG was able to win over the 15-member expert jury both economically and ecologically, and was awarded one of the popular "golden eggs".
Kern AG has ticked all the right boxes with the PackOnTime® project. The innovative packaging system operates on sustainable recycled cardboard and eliminates the need for additional filling materials such as plastic, bubble wrap and polystyrene
Cooperation Hunkeler and Kern
Kern AG, Konolfingen and Hunkeler AG, Wikon, two traditional Swiss companies, have agreed to cooperate more closely in the future - creating synergies benefitting both entities.
Kern and Hunkeler both offer finishing solutions for data centers and the digital printing industry. In the future, the two companies will be aligning parts of their product pallets. Kern will concentrate on its core solutions which are inserting, software, logistics, packaging and card processing. In the fields of unwinders and roll-to-cut-stack lines, Kern and Hunkeler decided to cooperate. The development and manufacturing of those products will be stopped at Kern, but the company will continue to be responsible for maintaining its installed base.
