Kern present a new technology study for a high speed rotary cutter line solution with stacker, merger and sequencer option.
The new type of roll to cut & stack solution from Kern provide a high performance and speed, space conservative, easy to operate and good price/benefit ratio solution.
This new rotary technology offers all needed functions and features like processing speed of up to 200 m/min, pinless or pinfeed with 1-up, 2-up, 3-up or 4-up options, as well as high stack capacity with offset functionality, etc. This new Kern roll to cut & stack solution can be connected to all continuous printer types for high volume print and finishing production and can be integrated in an online, offline or nearline configuration as well as in combination with other finishing devices s book-, booklet- or folder lines. Thanks to the use of an innovative (patent applied for) accurate feed system, the Kern 130 rotary cutter line enables the user to obtain stacked cut sheets over a wide format range together with job offset capality.
Another Kern breakthrough in the DFD product range!
One to four up applications are possible with this innovative combination. A low inertia rotary knife is enable to speed in excess of 200 m/min (640 ft/min) to be reached, equipped with an optional dual knife, unit will provide chip cutting capability and chip disposal. Unit features small footprint, user friendliness, automatic loading, optional feeders for 3–4 up applications.
Roll to roll
Kern’s "roll to roll" solutions enable operators to load and unload rolls of paper quickly and easily. The threading of paper through the modules is accomplished automatically. Kern’s "roll to roll" modules are capable of unwinding and rewinding rolls up to 54" in diameter – instead of the standard 51". The additional 3 inches in roll diameter provide room for up to 10,000 more sheets per roll. This means that rolls do not have to be changed as frequently during printing and finishing processes – a fact which translates into increased productivity and reduced costs. Besides the high-speed Kern 100 Unwinder and Kern 110 Rewinder for digital printers, Kern also makes roll unwinders for finishing machines such as high-performance inserting systems.
DFD Online©
It is not all just about speed. Operations managers have to be able to make informed decisions.
Our advanced controller, with easy-to-use color touch screen, stores and provides a wealth of information concerning the processed print data. This data can be remotely accessed via a network connection called DFD Online© so that it can be used by ADF software or evaluated in a spreadsheet. DFD Online© capabilities are optional in Kern’s Document Finishing on Demand modules for the digital printing industry.
